Advocates Team

MJP solicitors have a strong team of Advocates dedicated to advocacy work in all areas of Criminal Law.

The advocacy team covers a wide geographical area which includes all of the Northern Circuits of Courts and deals with every type of matter that might appear before a Magistrates Court (or a Youth Court) and most stages of Crown Court cases.

There are no areas of law that MJP solicitors do not cover within these jurisdictions and specialist areas include representation for legal expense insurers, insurance companies, trade bodies and corporations and societies. The team conducts every type of proceeding from a defence perspective.

The vast majority of work involves representation of private individuals with or without legal aid. We believe it is a human right to represented by a solicitor in Court and that a strong and effective Criminal Defence Service is a cornerstone of our democracy. We deal with all types of Human Rights issues and Prison Law.

The team provides an immediate response to matters at the police stations or before the Magistrates Court contactable by freephone, call centre or email address 24 hours a day.
